About the Festival

The Beginnings

In 2022, Macedon Ranges Shire Council consulted the Riddells Creek community regarding support for/implementation of the broader Council goal of net-zero emissions by 2030. From this consultation, foundational values and goals for the town emerged - the desire for Riddell to be a well connected thriving community, to help curb emissions and to support local natural environments. In response to this, the Riddells Creek Environment and Energy Expo (now the Riddells Creek Sustainability Festival) was created, and is run each year to maintain commitment to these values and goals.

What is Riddells Creek Cool Changes (RCCC)?

Riddells Creek Cool Changes (RCCC) is the group that formed as a result of the 2022 shire council consultations with the Riddells Creek community. RCCC is the group that runs this Sustainability Festival, as well as other projects like the Rangeview Revitalisation project.

So What Does Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG) got to do with it?

Riddells Creek Cool Changes – the group that runs this Festival – is an action group of Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG).

MRSG is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation run by volunteers. It is made up of twelve action groups, including the GROW Festival, the Woodend Community Farmers Market, Veg Action (Edgy Veg Awards), Sustainable Malmsbury, and the Kyneton Transition Hub.
